Abstract

Drawing on the comparative-legal method, this article analyses the typology of the models of relations between the President and executive power found in world constitutional practice, and locates the Uzbek model within it. It examines the three traditional forms of republican government together with the types and sub-types advanced by scholars. It further argues that a model should be classified according to its normative-constitutional structure, while the actual political regime should be assessed separately, and it advances the author’s own theoretical and practical conclusions.
