Abstract

Desuggestopedia, developed by Georgi Lozanov in the 1970s, is a language teaching method that focuses on reducing psychological barriers to learning and enhancing memory retention through music, role-playing, and a positive learning environment. This paper explores the theoretical foundations of Desuggestopedia, its core principles, and its effectiveness in language acquisition. Through an analysis of existing research, the study highlights how relaxation techniques, suggestive methods, and the integration of art and music contribute to accelerated language learning. The findings suggest that Desuggestopedia not only improves learners’ confidence and motivation but also facilitates long-term retention of linguistic structures. This paper aims to provide insights into the practical applications of Desuggestopedia in modern language classrooms and its potential for increasing language learning efficiency.
